It's not a coincidence that the Rainbow flag became the international symbol of the Queer community...
We’ve heard it many times. People believe that the Queer community “stole” the symbol of God’s promise from them. The Rainbow. “That is God’s promise to us that he won’t flood the Earth again.” They cry.
"I will put my rainbow in the clouds to be a sign of my promise to the earth". Genesis 9:13
When I read the scripture verses (because there’s more than one) I found there was more to the story then what they spoke. There was more to understand.
Say my Name, Say my Name...
They couldn't call me by name because I didn't have one of my own. When I found myself, my true name, my spirits' name, revealed itself... MacFinnian Aisling Fíodóir.
“Is that really your…” my assistant manager paused in thought. “I saw some paperwork, um, is Michelle really your name?” She whispered as if it was a secret.
I chuckled. “Well, it’s my legal name, the one my parents gave me. But no, it is not my name.”
